Alchemy Works is a coastal California retail, gallery, and event space concept located in the Arts District of Los Angeles and at Lido Marina in Newport Beach. We were honored to partner with Alchemy works for just under four years years to overseeing all aspects of the brick and mortar store. It was a growing experience to take an unknown store brand and build it to be the place that defined the iconic Arts District neighborhood. We were proud to have developed a revolving pop-up store program within the DTLA store location that included pop-ups from Brick and Mortar in Japan, Baldwin in Kansas City, and the first ever perminate shop-and-shop for Warby Parker, called “The Glass House” designed by The Otto Design Group.
“Raan Parton, creative director of Apolis, and his wife Lindsay have recently opened up Alchemy Works, a rotating gallery, event space, and retail environment in the Arts District of downtown LA. Drawing on Raan’s coastal upbringing in Santa Barbara, a global point-of-view permeates the way the store’s merchandised, and a modern sense of design. It’s the kind of tasteful, eclectic mix that finally clicks when the duo describe it as "a living Tumblr." That’s why the shop is stocked with a mixture of brands like The Hill-Side, Armor Lux, and Gitman Vintage. Housewares and grooming products from Fog Linen and Imperial Barber are also readily available. There’s a great mix of vintage products to round everything out, like the 1959 Fiat Abarth Spyder hanging out inside the shop—the only one of its kind in the U.S.”
